Magdeburg on Saksan osavaltion Saksi-Anhaltin pääkaupunki. Se sijaitsee Elbe-joen varrella. Kaupungissa on noin 230 000 asukasta. Se on merkittävä sisämaan satama, koska sillä on kanavayhteys Hannoverin kautta Dortmundiin, ja toisaalta Elben jokiliikenne kulkee Magdeburgin kautta.
