Duisburg sijaitsee Ruhrin_alue|Ruhrin alueen länsilaidalla Nordrhein-Westfalenin osavaltiossa Saksassa.
Kaupungissa on noin 506 000 asukasta ja se on Saksan 12. suurin kaupunki. Duisburg on tärkeä kauppa-, kulttuuri- ja teollisuuskaupunki. Erityisesti terästeollisuus on huomattavaa. Siellä on maailman suurin jokisatama Reinin ja Ruhrin yhtymäkohdassa ja kaupunki onkin Saksan sisäliikenteen keskus.
