Braunschweig on kaupunki Ala-Saksin osavaltiossa Saksassa. Asukkaita on 239 855 (31. joulukuuta 2001). Kaupunki sijaitsee Okerjoen varrella.
Braunschweig lienee perustettu vuoden 1000-vuosikymmen|1000 tienoilla, mutta kuuluisammaksi se tuli Baijerin ja Saksin ruhtinas Henrik Leijonan tehtyä siitä osavaltionsa pääkaupungin. Henrik rakennutti myös kaupunkiin Braunschweigin katedraalin sekä itselleen linnan. Molemmat ovat edelleen kaupungin nähtävyyksiä.
