Sapporo: Guide
Sapporo ( ) on Japanin viidenneksi suurin kaupunki ja Hokkaidōn prefektuurin pääkaupunki. Sen asukasluku on 1 869 888 (maaliskuussa 2005) ja pinta-ala 1 121,12km². Sapporo isännöi ensimmäisiä Aasiassa pidettyjä 1972 talviolympialaiset|talviolympialaisia vuonna 1972.
Sapporo sai kaupunkioikeudet 1. elokuuta 1922.
Kaupunki tulee isännöimään muutamia pelejä vuoden 2006 koripallon MM-kisoissa sekä toimii pohjoismaisten hiihtolajien MM-kisojen isäntäkaupunkina vuonna 2007.
Sapporon tunnetuin yritys on olut|panimojätti Sapporo Breweries Ltd.
