San Gimignano on pieni kaupunki Italiassa Firenzen ja Sienan kupeessa.
San Gimignano on tunnettu mm. arkkitehtuuristaan ja etenkin torneistaan. San Gimiganoa kutsutaan Sadan tornin kaupungiksi, koska alkujaan, kun kaupunki perustettiin siellä sijaitsi liki sata tornia. Kuitenkin sotien ja luonnonmullistuksien tuloksena torneja on jäljellä enää 15. San Gimiganossa on paljon kirkkoja ja niiden freskot ovat maailmankuuluja.
San Gimignanon historiallinen keskusta torneineen on myös valittu UNESCOn maailmanperintöluetteloon .
Historia
San Gimignano on toiminut aikoja linnoituskaupunkina, mutta Firenzen vaikutuksesta sekin on saanut annoksen taidetta.
Toinen maailmansota|Toisessa maailmansodassa San Gimignanossa säilytettiin muutamia englantilaisia, ranskalaisia ja amerikkalaisia siviilisotavankeja. Mm. Firenzessä vaikuttanut englantilaisrouvien ryhmä The Scorpioni oli vangittuna siellä kesästä 1940 kesään 1944. Aiheesta on tehty myös todellisuuten perustuva elokuva Teetä Mussolinin kanssa.
