Pinerolo: Guide



Pinerolo on noin 34 000 asukkaan kaupunki Italiassa, noin 50 kilometrin päässä Torinosta. Se sijaitsee Piemonten alueella ja Torino (provinssi)|Torinon provinssissa.

Ensimmäsiet maininnat Pinerolosta ovat 900-luku|900-luvulta. Keskiajalla Pinerolo oli merkittävä liikenteen risteyskohta ja siellä sijaitsikin Savoijin kuningashuoneen tärkeimpiä linnoituksia. Kaupungin sotilaallinen mahti perustui vieläkin toiminassa olevaan sotakouluun.

Pinerolossa pelattiin talviolympialaiset 2006|Torinon olympialaisten Curling-ottelut.
