Bologna: Guide
Bologna on kaupunki Pohjois-Italiassa, Emilia-Romagnan maakunnassa.
Bolognan perustivat etruskit nimellä Felsina n. 543 eaa. 300-luvulla eaa. Boijit valtasivat Felsinan ja nimesivät sen Bononiaksi. Seuraavaksi se oli roomalaisten leiripaikka, josta kehittyi keskiajalla keskiajan yliopisto|yliopistokaupunki. Dante, Kopernikus ja Erasmus Rotterdamilainen opiskelivat siellä - ja Umberto Eco opettaa siellä edelleen.
Bolognan kaupunkikuvaa hallitsevat katetut jälkakäytävät, joita on yhteensä noin 40 km:n verran. Rakennukset historiallisessa keskustassa ovat väriltään tiilenpunaisesta keltaiseen. Julkinen liikenne on Euroopan parhaita.
Bolognaa pidetään yleisesti italialaisen ruokakulttuurin pääkaupunkina. Tunnetuin bolognalainen ruoka lienee jauhelihakastike al ragù, josta on monia variaatioita, myös nimisellaisia kuten "bolognese". Bolognalaiset itse eivät koskaan sekoita jauhelihakastiketta spagettiin vaan ainoastaan lyhyeen pastaan. Oikeaan Bolognan kastikkeeseen ei myöskään käytetä paljoa tomaattia. Keittoaika on pitkä.
