Tux: Guide
Tux on Linux-käyttöjärjestelmän maskotti. Idea pingviinistä Linuxin maskottina tuli Linus Torvaldsilta. Tuxin loi Larry Ewing Linuxin logokilpailuun GIMP-kuvankäsittelyohjelmaa käyttäen vuonna 1996. Tux on nykyään erittäin laajalti tunnistettu maskotti, ja myynnissä on useita erilaisia Tuxin sisältäviä tuotteita, kuten esimerkiksi kahvikuppeja, t-paitoja ja pehmoleluja. Myös useat, ja erityisesti Linuxille tehdyt pelit käyttävät Tuxia tai muita pingviineitä pelihahmona.
Erään teorian mukaan Tuxin nimi tulee sanoista Torvalds UniX. Toinen selitys on, että pingviinit näyttävät siltä kuin olisivat pukeutuneet smokkiin (englanniksi tuxedo).
