Valladolid: Guide
Valladolid on teollisuuskaupunki keski-Espanjassa, Pisuerga-joen varrella. Valladolid on samannimisen maakunnan ja Kastilia ja Leónin itsehallintoalueen pääkaupunki. Kaupungin asukasluku on 321 143 (2003) ja koko kaupunkialueen 400 000.
Valladolid vallattiin maurit|maureilta 900-luku|900-luvulla. 1400-luku|1400-luvulta lähtien se oli Kastilian kuninkaiden ja Espanjan imperiumin pääkaupunki, aina vuoteen 1531 asti, jolloin hovi siirrettiin Madridiin. Valladolid oli pääkaupunki myös vuodet 1600–1606. 1800-luku|1800-luvulla kaupunki alkoi jälleen kasvaa. Teollistumisen myötä sinne perustettiin autotehdas ja runsaasti maalaisväestöä muutti kaupunkiin.
Valladolidissa on monia muistomerkkejä sen entisestä loistosta. Nähtävyyksiin kuuluvat keskeneräiseksi jäänyt katedraali, Santa Maria la Antiguan kirkko, Plaza Mayor sekä kaupungintalo, Colegio de San Gregorio (nykyisin museo) ja yliopiston oikeustieteellinen rakennus.
