Algeciras: Guide



Algeciras on kaupunki Etelä-Espanjan Andalusiassa. Sen asukasluku on 111 283 (01.01.2005). Kaupunki sijaitsee Gibraltaria vastapäätä Gibraltarinsalmen rannalla Välimeren puolella vähän pohjoiseen Tarifasta, joka on Espanjan eteläisin kaupunki.

Kaupungin nimi tulee arabialaisesta nimestä 'Al-Jazeera Al-Khudra, joka merkitsee vihreää saarta. Algecirasista on laivayhteys Tangeriin ja Ceutaan Afrikkaan. Kaupungissa on myös Cepsan öljynjalostamo ja tankkerien lastauspaikka.
