Albacete: Guide
Albacete on Albacete (maakunta)|samannimisen Espanjan maakunnat|maakunnan pääkaupunki Kastilia- La Manchan Espanjan itsehallintoalueet|itsehallintoalueella kaakkoisessa Espanjassa. Vuonna 2005 kaupungissa oli 159 518 asukasta, ja se on täten väkiluvultaan itsehallintoalueen suurin kaupunki.
Kaupungin nykyinen nimi tulee sen vanhasta Espanjan sisällissodan aikana Albacetessä sijaitsi niin sanottujen Kansainväliset prikaatit|Kansainvälisten prikaatien tukikohta.
Albaceten nähtävyyksiin kuuluvat muun muassa vastavalmistunut barokkityylinen Catedral de San Juan Bautista|San Juan Bautistan katedraali ja Museo Provincial de Albacete|Albaceten maakuntamuseo. Kaupunki on tunnettu myös teräaseteollisuudestaan.
Kaupungista on kotoisin vuonna 1940 perustettu jalkapalloseura Albacete Balompié, joka pelaa La Liga|Espanjan liigan toiseksi korkeimmalla tasolla, Segunda divisiónissa. Seuran kotistadionina toimii 17 300 -paikkainen Estadio Carlos Belmonte.
